Open pollinated seeds

When to plant: Spring through early summer, once all frost risk has passed. In Central Victoria, sow from September onwards. In cooler areas wait until October – November when soil has warmed.

Germination: 7 – 14 days at 21 – 30°C. Sow direct into the garden 10mm deep. Sunflowers dislike root disturbance, so direct sowing is preferred over raising in trays.
